Become a Fire Training Course Reviewer
Become a fire training course reviewer for the Fire Training Certification Program. The International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) selects reviewers based on their experience, expertise, and high level of knowledge of best practices in firefighter and fire service training.
Why Become a Fire TCP Reviewer
Fire TCP relies on reviewers and subject matter experts to assess content and instructional strategies in fire service training courses. Reviewers are responsible for ensuring that all training programs submitted for review comply with the Fire TCP standards for training excellence. View the rubrics for course certification.
What Qualifications Do I Need
Content reviewers are generally recognized as a state and/or international expert in a specific fire service subject or topic. Reviewers usually come from firefighter training academies, colleges, universities, firefighter agencies or other fire service professional entities. Many reviewers are also certified as experts in their topic areas, are experienced trainers, or are instructional designers.
Reviewers should have recognized content expertise and a significant background in firefighter training. Reviewers should also have three professional letters of recommendation attesting to the reviewer’s specific areas of expertise. Finally, a recommendation from a state fire marshal, or academy is highly desirable.
